The Owen Roberts International Airport serves the Grand Cayman Island in the British West Indies. The airport is located just outside the capital city of Georgetown. Other airlines served by the airport include Air Canada, American Airlines, British Airways, Continental Airlines, Delta Airlines, Island Air, United Airlines, US Airways, and West Jet. Cayman Airways and IBC Airways handle cargo shipments for the airport.
Visitors to Grand Cayman may use a courtesy hotel shuttle to their destination. Taxicabs and limousines also serve the Owen Roberts International Airport. An airport bus service serves the airport, the city of Georgetown, and the harbor to assist visitors arriving from or departing on one of the many cruise ships that dock on the island. The bus service does not run on a set schedule. It is advisable to book reservations on the bus in advance in order to ensure service on the day of one's arrival.
Owen Roberts International Airport offers many amenities to its visitors. A coffee shop, a full-service restaurant, and several fast-food restaurants provide a variety of dining choices. For travelers interested in relaxing in between flights, several airport bars provide refreshment and entertainment. Shopping options include a duty-free shop, convenience store, gift shop, travel shop, and newsstand. The airport also contains a post office and a pharmacy. The Tourist Information and Help Desk in the main concourse provide visitors with airport and destination information.
The Owen Roberts International Airport is equipped with ramps to assist travelers with special needs. Additionally, restroom facilities are designed to accommodate all travelers, regardless of ability. Furthermore, the airport will provide additional assistance to those visitors who request such accommodation.
